Aboriginal Land Agreement (ALA)

S 36AA of the Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983 (NSW) (ALRA) defines an ALA as 'an agreement, in writing, between the Crown's Land Minister and one or more Aboriginal Land Councils. These agreements allow for the flexible negotiation of multiple land claims, and were introduced in 2015 as an additional land claim mechanism under the ALRA.
